The Peterborough Phantoms are excited to announce the return of captain Will Weldon, for an eleventh season in Phantoms colours!

Following on from his testimonial year last year, the Nottingham born 29 year old returns for his eleventh year at the club.
Prior to his arrival in Peterborough, Weldon spent many years in the Nottingham junior system, icing throughout the age groups and eventually iced for the Lions and Elite League Panthers at senior level.
The former GB U18 and U20 International came to Peterborough Phantoms ahead of the 2011/12 season and has become a mainstay in the Phantoms lineup ever since. He quickly became a fan favourite and that title isn’t one which has left him in the eleven years which have followed.
Welds is now second in the Phantoms’ all time appearance maker charts, having iced just shy 500 times in Phantoms colours, notching over 270 points in the process.
Last season, Weldon scored ten goals and added fourteen assists for 24 points in 34 games in his first season wearing the ‘C’ on his chest. This year, he returns for a second season as the captain of the Peterborough Phantoms.
Weldon said: ”I’m really happy to be back for another year. There were lots of positives to take from last season as a team and it feels like we are in a great position to push on as a club and I can’t wait to play a part!”

The fans here love him and I know he’s built a real love for the club and for the fans here over the last ten or eleven seasons. He’s a leader, he’s the kind of guy you want next to you in a battle and we’re really happy to have him back in our team!” said Slava.
