This week representatives from both Peterborough Phantoms and Planet Ice Peterborough attended the Bretton Parrish Council Meeting after concerns of parking were raised.
The below areas were raised in the meeting:
Please do not park on grass verges around the roundabout and alongside the dual carriage way around the rink
Please ensure that you do not block, encroach on or park on a footpath or walkway, access path
Please ensure you do not restrict access to fire hydrants (this has been reported as happening)
Please only park in permissible areas
Encourage car sharing to reduce traffic
Traffic Enforcement will be visiting match nights regularly to police any cars parked on verges, double yellow lines or in areas where parking is not permitted and they can expect tickets, however, parking in the residential estates across from the rink, in permissible spaces, is obviously allowed and encouraged over parking illegally around the rink or nearby roads.
Parking should be encouraged in the residential areas over the verges near the rink and Stirling Way where it is restricted parking. We are working with the council, and they will be reaching out to local companies on our behalf to see if parking arrangements can be made! We hope that working closer with the Council and Parish Councils will enable us to create long term parking solutions!
