The 17 year old from Peterborough has played his entire junior career in the Phantoms Academy, wearing an alternate captain ‘A’ for a couple of spells.
Last season was his first within the senior Phantoms setup, whilst he also iced for the U18’s, Phantoms NIHL and played a few games on loan for the Chelmsford Chieftains.
He also had his first experience of the Great Britain junior set up last season, playing five games in Great Britain U18s’ bronze medal winning campaign at the World Junior Championships in Estonia.
Billy said the following on his return: “Last year was an amazing experience for me, stepping up into senior hockey. It was a big learning curve within my game and I’m just looking forward to getting started this year with the boys and continuing to develop my abilities throughout the year with the help of Slava!”
“Billy is a brilliant young defenceman with a lot of potential. He’s a product of our junior set up and it’s always nice to see those players progress into the senior team. Billy can be whatever he wants to be if he continues to develop and shows the commitment he has done up to now, and we’re excited to see what he can achieve personally and as a part of our team this year!” said Phantoms Head Coach, Slava Koulikov.
Billy’s own and loan light and dark jerseys are now available on the Phantoms Online Store. His equipment is also available to sponsor on our kit sponsorship grid. Head to the online store HERE to secure your Thorpe jersey and equipment!
