The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to announce the return of young forward, Barni Sari, for his second season with the club.
The Hungarian born, British trained forward began his junior career with the Coventry Blaze, before moving into the Sheffield system at U16’s.
He then moved back to his native Hungary, where he continued to ice through juniors at Fehérvár Hockey Academy, who play in both Hungarian and Austrian leagues.
Capped by Hungary at U17 and U18 level, Barni arrived in Peterborough ahead of the 2024/25 season and picked up five points in his debut campaign with the club, including a goal against the Milton Keynes Lightning in December.
And he now returns to the Phantoms line up for his second season at Planet Ice Peterborough in 2025/26.
Barni said the following about his return: “I’m very excited to be back with the Phantoms, it’s a special team to be apart of. Last season gave me a solid foundation, I’m determined to build on that and make a bigger impact on the ice next season. With all the changes behind the bench and energy around the group, I truly believe we can bring more success to Peterborough. Can’t wait to get started, see you all soon Phantoms fans!”
And Phantoms’ Head Coach, Ashley Tait, said: “I think this could be a big year for Barni. He started to show signs of what he’s capable of last year so I’m looking forward to seeing that develop further and his contribution increase."
